Can I Run Multiple DOS Applications At One Time?

No.  Only one copy of Pocket DOS can run at any one time.  However, you may have multiple DOS applications on your handheld unit and you can exit one application, return to the Application Menu and then successfully start up another DOS application without having to exit Pocket DOS to do so.

Can I Run Other Windows Based Applications At the Same Time?

Yes you can.  You may run DOS applications and Windows based applications at the same time.

The procedure to toggle between the applications varies with the handheld unit you are using.  On the Trimble Ranger and the Trimble Nomad unit you will press the Ok key to go back to the Windows Mobile screen.  On the Nautiz X3, X5, an X7 you also press the Ok key.  On the Juniper Systems Allegro CE, Allegro CX, and Allegro MX you either press the __ symbol at the bottom right of the keyboard or the red circular button towards the middle of the screen.  The procedure for the Allegro handheld units varies with the menu shown at the bottom of the screen.

Once you are back on the Windows screen you can select an already running application by double clicking on the icon associated with that application.  If you are not running an application you have to double click on the icon for Windows CE.NET machines and select the application from the Start Menu for Windows Mobile machines.
