Allegro CX
Juniper Systems Allegro CX
This model was brought out in late 2005, and remained in production until late 2008 when it was replaced by the Juniper Systems Allegro MX. With the introduction of this model, the DOS line of handheld units came to an end. This Windows CE.Net handheld unit did not have a separate DOS mode to run our applications, but could run those applications with the use of Pocket DOS.
TTS Use of the Allegro CX Handheld Unit:
This was never one of our better selling units, but we placed about 200 into use during the 3-year period that this unit was in existence. Early on, this unit was plagued with similar touchscreen problems as the Allegro CE/DOS; but by mid-2006, those problems went away. Readability of this unit's screen was not quite as good as for the Allegro DOS, but it still ran our applications well with just a little more training on the part of the user.
After Market Value:
Today, these 3 - 5 year old units are worth between $1,000 - $1,250. I have seen dozens for sale on eBay and Amazon for the $1,250 - $1,500 price range, and many come with surveying software, which you won't need. If you do acquire one, we will be glad to remove any unneeded software, provide you with a new handstrap and battery, if they are needed, and load up your software. This offer is only for existing customers looking for a backup unit for their systems and not for new customers.
