Overview: This handheld system allows the user to keep track of the logs that go through the mill on a daily basis. The log information captured depends on the desired information, whether it is just a log tag or whether it is species and volume or species, grade and volume. Normally this information is uploaded to a PC based log management system but can be used as a stand alone system.
Users: Sawmills
Features: · Supports entering in logs being removed from inventory at the debarker. · Enter in log tags, log volumes, or volume and grade. · Print out milling reports showing tags going through the mill, a summary by species, or a summary by species and grade. · Upload milling information to a PC based log yard management system.

Overview: This system allows those users that tag all of their logs to take a physical inventory of their log yard for determining logs in the yard and those that are no longer in the log yard. Typically this system requires the use of a PC based log management system. With such a system existing inventory by species can first be downloaded to the hand held for the purpose of taking the physical inventory. Then when the log tags are entered (manually or scanned) the system can keep a running total of the volume by species in the log yard for display purposes.
Users: Sawmills and Log concentration yards
Features: · Take physical inventories of one or more species at one time. · Download current inventory for one or more species to the hand held for log validation and log audits. · Show running volumes by species of logs found in the log yard and what was not found in the yard and what was on the yard that was no longer in inventory.

Overview: This system is used by companies needing the running footage of what is being loaded into containers. Typically this is used in conjunction with a PC based log management system where a single sale (or related sales to a single customer) is downloaded to the hand held in advance of container loading so that logs can be tracked as to which container the logs went into and how much footage was placed in the container.
Users: Log brokers, exporters, log concentration yards
Features: · Supports downloading sales in progress from the PC for building containers. · Enter in log tags for all logs going into a single container and get running footages.

Overview: This system is for companies that want to determine by species and grade what they have found in the woods. Though it is usable by consultants it is primarily a buying tool to get a better picture of standing volume since the system permits the full grading of trees in the stand. This system is specifically for those users that measure tree volumes based on form class tables rather than using log volumes.
Users: Timber buyers and consultants placing timber up for sale
Features: · 100%, Check, Strip, Plot, and Prism Cruises Supported · Form class 76 & 84 supported (Other volume tables are available if needed) · Tree grading with up to 5 variable length logs per tree · Tree heights can be entered in logs and half logs or in feet · Up to 99 plots per cruise with up to 9,999 samples in one cruise · Complete pricing by species is supported with up to 8 levels of pricing · Complete lookup and review of trees is available · A summary by species and grade is available along with cruise statistics.
System prints out 5 Reports: 1) Tree Detail 2) Plot Statistics 3) Stand & Stock Tables 4) Cruise Summary 5) Product Summary

Overview: This timber buying system is for users that feel more comfortable of entering in trees using log volumes rather than having volumes computed using diameter at DBH and tree heights. With this system the entire tree volume can be entered directly or volumes by log can be entered using the diameter inside bark at each log end and the log length. Scaling trees in this fashion is much like scaling logs in the yard except the system keeps track of the logs in a tree and the average number of logs per tree.
Users: Loggers and timber buyers that want volumes that more accurately reflect scaled in the yard volumes.
Features: · Enter trees as if you were scaling logs using length and diameter inside bark at the small end of each log segment. · Enter in up to 5 logs per tree. · Edit, Delete, and Review Trees Entered. · Review a Recap of Each Cruise by Species
System prints out 5 cruise reports: 1) Cruise Summary 2) Cruise Detail 3) Grade Totals 4) Veneer Only 5) Species Table

Overview: This grading system is appropriate for the green chain where boards are placed into loads (rather than packs) for the purpose of building outgoing loads for shipment.
Users: Sawmills that want to sell most of their lumber green and by the truck load.
Features: · 14 grades supported · 2 - 3 keystrokes / board · Up to 20 loads can be built at one time (8 are shown on the screen at once) · Up to 45 boards / minute. · 6 cant sizes are supported. System supports both variable width and fixed width cants. · 6 thickness' can be tracked at one time · Track lumber by quality (brown; stain; white; etc.) · Enter in SM then grade or grade and then SM as you wish. · System supports grading multiple species at one time
System prints 5 separate grading reports: 1) Daily Production 2) Period Production by Species 3) Load Detail 4) Load Summary (shows loads in progress and completed loads) 5) Load Summary by Grade

Overview: This system is for grading incoming and lumber graded out of the kiln. It is a package grading system rather than a load grading system. It is most usable for a pile down grading area and on a grading chain. The system can track incoming loads separately and can run multiple loads at one time if necessary.
Users: Lumber buyers, furniture manufacturers, dry kiln operators, sawmills with dry kilns.
Features: · Supports surface measure and length and width tallies. · Supports up to 10 grades at one time. · Supports grading incoming lumber, lumber out of the kiln, or lumber being prepared for shipment. · Supports 4/4 - 20/4 lumber. · Build one or more packs at a time. A 25 way sort is available for regarded lumber. · Multiple purchases can be worked on at one time and the grader can switch between multiple incoming loads.
System prints 5 grading reports: 1) Purchase Information 2) Sales Information 3) Day's Grading Summary 4) Bundle Summary 5) Bundle Detail

Overview: This is a lumber pack volume determination method where piece tallies are determined using length and board width. This system measures individual pack volumes after the bundle has already been assembled. Normally only one grade is placed in a bundle since volume by grade is not determined. 2· Sequential or user defined bundle numbers can be used. · Supports an attached metal ruler or a Geo-Met Instruments Tallyman 6000. · Allows up to 5 lengths per pack and boards from 3" - 29" in width. · Allows for copying information, changing lengths, updating boards, adding to or removing lumber from packs, and a number of other update features. · Supports lumber of multiple thicknesses: 3/4", 7/8" and 4/4 - 20/4. Typically lumber thinner than 4/4 is tallied as 4/4. . Latest version allows separate tallying of pallet and blocking and for lumber put up at the stacker. · Supports complete review and update of packs entered. · Supports end shrinkage and normal shrinkage using multiplication or division methods · Supports incoming, outgoing and tallying of lumber directly out of a kiln.

Purchase Grading
Overview: This grading system is a subset of our full package grading system and is specifically for companies that purchase lumber and that need to grade that lumber and verify the totals against what was invoiced or who simply need to spot check some of the incoming lumber. This system does not build lumber packs from the lumber graded but does provide a full range of reports on the lumber purchased.
Users: Furniture companies, flooring companies, moulding companies, and custom dry kiln operations.
Features: · Track up to 10 grades of lumber. · Grade multiple loads at one time. · Enter surface measure and grade only for each board graded.
System prints 4 separate grading reports: 1) Day's Grading 2) Grading Status 3) Purchase Detail 4) Purchase Sumary
